Jason's Visual Essays have become his unique trademark style. The line work, shadows, and basic forms of these works are all comprised of letters as small as 1/32" of an inch tall. Every line, every curve, every mark is part of a meaningful word! These pieces use India ink and/or watercolor for the actual lettering. Pastel, chalk, watercolor washes, and colored pencil soften the finished work and add vibrant color. Click on the thumbnails for larger views.

9/11 Eagle Tribute Piece
9/11 Tribute - Eagle on Nest

This artwork is a tribute to the victims of 9/11. I used the names of all the nearly 3,000 victims to create this scene.

Every victim's first and last name is used. In the case of duplicate names, a middle name or initial is also there. The firefighters, police officers, military, and airline pilots have their rank listed, as well.
